National Timber Systems has strengthened its senior leadership team with the promotion of Andrew Watters to Production Director as the business continues its development following its acquisition by Premier Forest Products.
Andrew moves into the role from his previous position as Divisional Production Manager and will oversee production, operations and Health and Safety across the company’s sites.
The appointment follows Premier Forest Product’s acquisition of National Timber Systems at the start of the year, which safeguarded its operations in Bristol, Sheffield, Newcastle and Catterick.
Andrew has more than 25 years of production management experience gained across a range of companies.
He has spent 15 years with the business, including eight years with NYTimber and seven with NTS. During that time, he has played an important role in strengthening factory production controls and overseeing the company’s ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality management systems.
He has also supported the successful introduction of new products across the business.
As Production Director, Andrew will manage Health and Safety, production and operations across NTS branches in Newcastle, Catterick, Sheffield and Bristol, as well as its additional Timber Engineering operation in Newport.
His priorities will include driving operational excellence, maintaining high safety standards and identifying opportunities to increase capacity across the company’s sites.
Working closely with NTS Managing Director Nick Kershaw, Andrew is also leading the company’s renewed focus on Right First Time manufacturing and customer service excellence.
The approach is intended to ensure that product quality and customer satisfaction remain central to the company’s continued growth.
Andrew will also focus on developing a high-performing team culture through effective coaching, strong leadership and continuous improvement.
