South Wales-based FireRite is accelerating UK-wide growth plans following the strategic acquisition of fire safety training specialist, Tower Fire and NRCS (National Roofing and Cladding Solutions) under its Fire Safety Group (FSG) brand.
This acquisitive growth has been further enhanced with the launch of CarbonRite – a new sustainability and net-zero focused start-up – with the expanded group targeting the creation of up to 30 new jobs, strong revenue growth, and further acquisitions over the next 12 months.
Combining compliance-led fire safety, building safety, and environmental performance expertise under one governance-driven framework, FSG is building a holistic service offering that directly addresses evolving building regulations and net zero targets.
Through its specialist companies, FSG supports public and private sector clients with independent consultancy, technical assurance, and managed delivery, ensuring that safety, compliance and sustainability are treated as one integrated system, not separate disciplines.
Since being used to facilitate the management buy-out (MBO) of FireRite in 2021, FSG is now the primary vehicle to drive organic and acquisitive growth. “Founded by my father, FireRite has been a successful family-run business for more than 20 years,” explains Gareth Selway, FSG Group CEO.
“Since the MBO we’ve seen a lot of change in the industry. Managing risk and meeting regulations often have conflicting priorities across competing disciplines. With FSG, we’re building a solution-led approach that considers all requirements holistically – bringing Tower Fire and NRCS on board is just the start of that journey.”
FireRite and NRCS are both members of Comercity, a cross-sector business network based in South Wales.
“Comercity is all about community and collaboration,” continues Gareth. “As a fellow member of Comercity, it was an ideal way for us to explore synergies with NRCS before closing the deal.”
